The heart of the amazon
Capital of the department of Loreto, is considered the capital of the Peruvian Amazon. Founded in 1757 by the Jesuits under the name of St. Paul of the Napeans, it is located in the middle of the continent and still retains the splendor of the golden age of rubber.
The mythical Amazon River, fed by about 1000 tributary rivers, is the largest in the world; the level of its waters increases during the rainy season, from January to May. In this area where nature is very kind, you can appreciate a great diversity of flora and fauna, more than 600 species of flowers, 3000 species of fish and almost the same variety of birds.
